Hello,
Juicing is a good way to top up your levels of the following nutrients, although they are only needed in small amounts many people fall short of their RDA (recommended daily amount). For an excellent view on the situation learn all you can from Patrick Holford. He's our favourite nutrition guru and cuts through a lot of the nonsense and sensationalism to deliver the facts! Go Patrick!!

Vitamins First Vitamin A or retinol as its called. Its a fat soluble vitty so in theory if you got take too much it will build up and become toxic, don't worry though you'd need a pretty huge amount to achieve that. vitamin A maintains healthy skin, eyes and lungs, a few more internal parts. Where you find it dark green leafy greens, carrots of course everyone know's they help you see in the dark! Also dairy, oily fish, eggs and liver. Vit A is oil soluble, so adding oil helps it digest. Thats why we love our cocktail juices, things work in unison! You'll be amazed how often dark greens pop up in this section!! JUICE EM!!! |
The B vitamins you know em, thiamine (b1), riboflavin (b2), niacin (b3) and all the other thing that are listed on cereal packets. The B vitamins can be looked at as part of the B complex, used for energy production from your food and other roles such as growth, stress reduction and a healthy nervous system. B's are watersoluble so your body will easily lose any excess. Natural sources cauliflower, pineapple, orange, leeks, watercress, yoghurt, eggs, berries, broccoli and some nuts. |

Vitamin C the vitamin's vitamin! everyone knows about this one, it supports your immune system, repairs body systems and fights the good fight against many diseases. Water soluble as well so hard to get too much. There is a good argument for taking 1000mgs per decade you've been around for! Where to look for it Oranges, kiwi fruit, berries, blackcurrants. Beetroot is another good source but use it sparingly! Man, its easy to see why we love our juicers isn't it? |
Vitamin D the original sunny delight, the best source of vitamin D is sunlight, not much good in the UK's winter so top up with fish liver oils. It's a pretty specific vitamin this one and only available from these sources. Natural sources dietary wise, it's only really oily fish and their liver oils in particular, eggs and some dairy products!! I have to say there is nothing in that list that I would juice!! Get in the sun and top up with fish oils! |

Vitamin E this is a vastly imortant vit, a heart nutrient, this helps with healthy tissue growth and the battle against free radicals as it's a very potent anto oxidant. Vit E is a fat soluble vitty so some seed oil in your juice will help you get the most from it in your diet. Vitty E is found in our favourite, leafy green veggies and vegetable oils, eggs are a reasonable source. |
Vitamin F in the public eye a lot because this is the collective name for the essential fatty acids. Omega 3, 6 and 9 and that lot! don't get caught up in the hype! but they are essential Fat soluble too, so they so store up in your bod. Where to find them fresh green veggies and their oils for a higher dose, evening primrose oil, oily fish and their oils. There are plenty of benefits from essential oils, for all round physical and mental health you need these! |

Where to find it You guessed it, our favourite and now I hope yours too, lovely leafy green veggies. Cauliflower comes in top for vit K.
