The Juiceproducer guide to vegetable nutrition!Fruit and veggies rock!! well not literally but collectively they are pretty damn good for you. Before I took a real interest in nutrition I could never really get excited about fruit and veg, sure I knew it was good for you, I'd been told a million times, then I learn't all I could about nutrition so I knew WHY and HOW its good for you. Now I can't wait to to flood my system with natural living foods from the juicer or the blender, its rocket fuel, designed by nature to nourish and so easy to do!!!a few of our best sellers So its time for the A to Z of veggies, and what they have in store for you, this is a rough guide and far from exhaustive, just a good start, and remember that on top of this fresh fruit and veggies are all full of LIFE!! enzymes, nutrients, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals when you add them up it's the zest of life itself! If you eat raw fresh living food thats what you get in return!! If you were to ever ask "Whats in that broccoli Mr Shopkeeper?" the answer would be "Why life itself my esteemed customer" right lets get into the A to Z.
Brussel sprouts....................... Vits A, C, potassium, folic acid and coz its a green meanie it will have a chlorophyll content! read more about chlorophyll in the jp's guide to wheatgrass. Butternut Squash.................... Vits A, B1, B6, C, Folic acid, Potassium, Phosphorus Cabbage................................. B6, C, potassium, sulphur and ffolic acid note that this is RAW if you boil cabbage you loose some of that vital life force and the B6 and folic acid, see what we mean about keeping it raw!! Carrots.................................... Good ol' carrots the back bone of many a juice, well carrot juice definately! Vits A, B1, B6, C and K, power packed!!! and remember these vits are all in their natural and most available form for your body to digest.Again boil em and you lose a lot!! Save on gas and leccy and juice em! Courgette............................... "I call him 'mini marrow' a perfect replica exactly 1/8th my size" er anyway, courgette has B6 C, folica acid and potassium Cucumber................................the highest water content thing out there, and full of skin enhancing nutrients Leeks.......................................Vits B1, B6, C and folic acid
Peas........................................ B1 Vit C and phosphorus, and what's more the humble pea is good and hanging on to its goodness whether frozen or boiled, a quick ripple for the pea. Pepper..................................... Vits A, B6 and C, now each colour of pepper has its own special benefit! eat all the colours you can! Rocket...................................... not just a rock whopper from 'the leppard' but a power packed green rammed with vit C you can taste the goodness!! best raw again! Runner beans.......................... Vits A and C, and folic , green too and we know what that means. Seaweed................................. B12, copper, iron, iodine and phosphorus, veggi eater take note, seaweed can be a source of the elusive B12 vit! Spinach................................... a powerfood and JP favourite! check this out, vits A, B6, C, K, Folic acid, Calcium, Iron, Potassium, Magnesium. Eat raw spinach and you too can be popeye tastic! Swede..................................... B1, B6, C and folic acid. Sweetcorn............................... eat this on the cob it retains its zing better! B1, B6, C, folic, Niacin, Magnesium, potassium.
